It's been so long since I shared anything! Over a month ago, I visited Washington DC. I went to visit a lovely friend from high school and her family. Great hosts, we had an amazing time with them and their adorable baby, and they showed us around a lot. On a very hot Saturday, they took us to Annapolis, a charming city situated on the shores of Chesapeake Bay. We had crab for lunch (you can't leave the city without trying them) and had ice cream and walked around the docks.

I was very surprised to discover this place and really loved it, so beautiful!

I've been delaying this post forever, but finally I found the time! Last month it's been so so hot in my city, (beautiful! --> I ♥ Summer) and I guess this made me more lazy than usual to edit and post pictures. So here is my story of the week:

I have a favorite photography teacher, she's a Venezuelan living in my cherished Montreal, who inspires tons of people all over the world. She takes the sweetest pictures, has tons of patience and love for her work. She is also a screenwriter, her blog is delightful to read, and she has a special charm which has gotten her a huge and international fan club that participates month after month in one of the most active and popular groups in flickr: La vuelta al mundo (Around the world) . It's my favorite one, too, because besides having a monthly and inspiring topic, it gets a lot of participation and you get to know awesome people who have the best attitude and give you lots of good feedback about your work.

This last month of July Jackie proposed that we all find specific treasures in our city. I didn't find them all, but I was pretty close... ;)

One of the largest gay festivals in the world is organized in Toronto every year. It's an awesome celebration of diversity. I went to the main parade on Sunday, so much fun!

Last Saturday, I assisted and shot at Hungry For Change (part of the Films That Move series), a community event focused on resources, discussion, and education to promote better knowledge about what we eat. It included a discussion panel, some movie screenings, and lots of yummy, organic, local food to sample. Here are some of the images I took:

Also (and I'm so happy about this): I opened my Etsy shop!! I have some lovely postcards there to sell and I plan to add other items soon, so go take a look!

Last week, I took a sweet and inspiring travel photography class and as I'm not going anywhere soon, I thought I'd take some pics in my city and show how beautiful and diverse it is.

The weather hasn't really been cooperating but I did manage to snap some photos during my lunch hour in a neighbourhood near my work, bike to the new and lovely Sugar beach (how cool is that?) and walk around Kensington Market and the fantastic Flatiron building to start. I love Toronto, especially in Spring, after so much rain everything is blooming and you don't need to go far to find a park and tulips everywhere...

I've been back from vacations for weeks, but I didn't have time to edit and share pictures until now. These are some images of the lovely Tulum and Akumal on the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. It was really hard to choose which ones to publish as everything is so extremely beautiful. We visited some Mayan ruins, laid for hours on the beach, did some snorkeling and went for a cenote excursion, all on top of enjoying an uncountable amount of margaritas under the sun. After having learned to live surrounded by tons of lizards of all imaginable sizes, I enjoyed taking a million pictures and here are some for you all:

I love brunch. My hubby introduced me to it when I came to Canada, as it's not something we do back home. Since then, we cook it or eat it out every weekend. We're always trying to reproduce what we try somewhere else or, in this case, this recipe from Sweet Paul's lovely blog. I am a total fan and I'm glad it turned out so delicious! This week, this sweet flickr group proposed taking pictures of the first signs of spring, and immediately I got discouraged, as winters here are so long and snow is still around.

But stubborn as I am, I went out with my camera and I got so happily surprised when I found these little treasures around! Day after day I surprise myself with all that my love of photography is allowing me to discover, as if I had some kind of new sensitivity...

I've been editing pictures taken at my sister's pecan farm. I miss it all so much. I am proud of having done these for me but for my family as well. They totally reflect how beautiful it is, how much we enjoyed it, and how relaxing those days together were.

As a kid I wasn't that exposed to nature so I enjoy visiting when I can.

It's also nice to see how all their is finally reflected in the fields.

It makes me smile remembering the yummy food that we all prepared and shared:

I discovered all kinds of flickr groups since I started sharing my work. For vintage lovers, bokeh shots, blurred pics and those with monthly themes. I've joined several of them and I get tons of inspiration from them all, but the ones that piqued my curiosity the most, or at least surprised me in the way that they opened my eyes to something different, were the ones that collect pictures of fences. Before that, I wouldn't have paid that much attention to them, honestly, and now I see beauty in them all the time. So during my vacations at the beach I got almost obsessed with them, and there I was shooting them while my husband was explaining to the rest of my family that I'm not crazy, just obsessed with my love of photography. So here is a little bit of what I got:

I am going through a little bit of chaos, running around, trying to organize all I need for a very special Christmas... I'm going back to my country, I'm visiting my family and we'll spend three weeks together sharing celebrations, beach vacations and lots of talks and laughs I hope.

What can this blog be about?
About inspiration, about good memories, trips I enjoy and people I love. But mostly about beauty, because that's something that I appreciate everywhere I go. I have enjoyed taking pictures to help me remember all these things since I was very young. Now I take pictures of everything just because I love it.
